New Direction: Androgyny
Initially my new Uni Project was inspired by the eighties, but as much as I love the eighties,my project was going no where, and I was overwhelmed with so much uni work,I had to catch up with.
I was struck with inspiration when I came across Andrej Pejic, the male model changing the face of fashion and modeling,as you will be able to tell in the images below...

Muse Project

Peter Jensen 'MUSE' project.

It was quite a few posts a go I mentioned my latest Uni Project 'Muse'.
I've been so busy trying to complete the project,I had'nt had a chance to blog about it, but with  a long awaited week off Uni!I finally have more time to catch up and blog a little...

Here are just a few photo's I toke of my sketchbook...

My muse for this project is someone who is very inspirational and very special to many people, who knew her.
So my main design features are lace-from the clothes she wore, russian dolls-from the ornaments she collected,tartan-from her scottish routes, patchwork and quilting-from the beautiful arts and crafts she made.
My end result is a sweet, layerd lace minidress, and lace clutch with russian doll print for the lining.
Hopefully soon I'll be able to do the photoshoot for this project and post up the final outcome.

My theme for the project- Precious, special, elegant,memories...

Ear Cuff and Wolves.

Ear Cuff and Wolf Earrings from Topshop.Silver Hoop from Claires Accessories.

Ear Cuff and Wolves...

I am obsessed with Topshops amazing range of Jewellery.
If I had the money I'd buy it all.
Topshop have so many pieces that you can't neccessarily get in any other Highstreet stores; such as Backlaces, earcuffs, knuckle dusters etc.
I know these are avaliable in many places, but with Topshop you can garuntee to find a statement piece of Jewelery...

(I have the ear cuff in,upside down,as I could'nt get my hoop out!)

I've also had a look for some more Statement Pieces, Topshop have to offer...

Back at Uni/ Peter Jensen...

Thursday, October 6, 2011
I'm back at University,as of Monday.
It's been great to get back and crack on with my third and final year.
My Presentation for my Blogger/Street Style Project went well...I think? I was so nervous,I don't remember what I said or did,but afterwards my Tutor seemed to like my idea and my work.
So a big Thanks, again to everyone that helped me out!
Here are a couple more photo's from my sketchbook,as I only showed you a little sneak peak of my work on my last post...

Magazine tear out's,Sketches,Design Idea's,Fabric Swatches.
Photo's of Garments I've made, design Idea's,Fabric manipulation and Fashion Illustration.

Peter Jensen Project.
I have already been set my new Project. Inspired By 'Peter Jensen' I have to find a muse to base my project on,to design a collection and make an outfit.
I'm ashamed to say I had never heard of Peter Jensen before, until my project briefing, and I have to say,I have been missing out!
His works are so incredibly inspiring, with each collection being differnet, with a different muse, but always having his own humourous, unique stamp on it.
Here's one of my favourite collections,Watch this!!!...

Trend Spotter

Thursday, September 29, 2011
I've really enjoyed this project and apreciate everyone that has particapated.
I said I'd keep you up to date with how it's going so here's a few pictures of my design work and idea development (inspired by you guys...)...

...Just a few photo's of samples, designs and research...

Trend Spotting

With research and the fabulous bloggers style photo's,I have spotted four major trends, which I have then worked with in my garment designs...

The Trends

#1- Customised Denim-Im sure most of you have spotted or are wearing customised denim, wether it's torn, studded, spiked, dyed etc...

#2-Dressed up Sweats/Joggers- Dressing up your jogging bottoms, pairing it with designer T's or gorgeous vintage finds,so your feeling super comfy yet looking Chic...

#3-layerd sheer garments- Sheer, floaty and feminine fabrics and garments layerd on top of body con garments, leatards and super short shorts,so showing of your figures but in a subtley sexy way...

#4-Vintage knit luxe- Layerd, luxourious fabrics paired together for the ultimate glamourous, vintage luxe look, combining heavy knitwear, cord, velvets with vintage finds-leather bags, belts and jersey T's.
